2024 USAGA Recap + Clinic Pictures
2024 has been an incredible year of growth and impact for the United States Adaptive Golf Alliance. We are proud to have welcomed 52 new member organizations, expanding our reach and bringing adaptive golf to even more individuals across the country. This year, we've provided over 5,300 adaptive golf lessons at no charge to participants, empowering them through the therapeutic benefits of the game.

2024 Shriners Open Adaptive Golf Clinic Recap
Since 2018, the U.S. Adaptive Golf Alliance (USAGA) has partnered with Shriners Children's Hospital to introduce adaptive golf to the Standard Bearers at the Shriners Children's Open, a PGA Tour event held in Las Vegas. This year, despite high winds that forced the clinic to move from the driving range to a nearby hotel, the event was successful. USAGA Executive Director Jonathan Snyder led the clinic, which included coaches Brandon Canesi, David Windsor, Tracy Ramin, and USAGA board director and Shriner Steve Husome. Both Canesi and Husome have personal ties to Shriners, adding a unique layer of inspiration to the event.
USGA Study: Does Adaptive Golf Cart Traffic Have an Impact on Putting Green Smoothness and Trueness?
Golf is a game for everyone, including people with disabilities. In recognition of this fact, the United States Golf Association (USGA) debuted the U.S. Adaptive Open in 2022. Whether a course is hosting a national championship for adaptive golfers or simply trying to improve access and enjoyment for normal play, questions arise about how to best accommodate adaptive players and whether there are any unique course maintenance considerations involved.G

CAF Annual Grant Application Now Open
The United States Adaptive Golf Alliance is proud to share that our long-time partner, the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF), has opened applications for their 2024 Annual Grant Program. This grant is available to individuals worldwide with permanent physical disabilities and is designed to provide the necessary support and resources for adaptive athletes to excel in their sports. If you are an adaptive athlete looking for support to pursue your golf goals, we encourage you to apply. The application window runs from October 7 to December 6, 2024, so don’t miss this fantastic opportunity!
USAGA to host Coaches Workshop on Nov 8th & 9th
We are excited to announce a significant milestone for the United States Adaptive Golf Alliance (USAGA) as we host our first local adaptive golf coach training in over two years! This two-day workshop, taking place on November 8th and 9th, 2024, is a key initiative in our mission to expand access to adaptive golf, aligning with the first of our three core pillars: Teach.
USAGA hosts Adaptive Golf Clinic at Ally Challenge
On August 19, 2024, the U.S. Adaptive Golf Alliance (USAGA) brought smiles and high-fives to Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club with a lively adaptive golf clinic. Held just before the PGA Champions Tour Ally Challenge, the event saw over 40 adaptive golfers and coaches hitting the driving range for a day filled with fun and therapy.
USAGA Receives $15,000 Gatorade Equity in Sports Community Grant
We are delighted to announce that the U.S. Adaptive Golf Association (USAGA) has been awarded a $15,000 grant from the Gatorade Equity in Sports Community Grant Program. Initiated in Spring 2022 as part of Gatorade’s Equity in Sports Initiative, this program is dedicated to advancing equity and access in sports by concentrating on three critical areas: resourcing community programs, providing access to sports facilities and equipment, and training coaches to champion equity and inclusion.
Team USA Triumphs in Cairns Cup at Cherry Creek
Team USA emerged victorious at the 2024 Cairns Cup, held at Cherry Creek Golf Club in Shelby Township, Michigan. The biennial event, renowned as "Disability Golf's Premier Match Play Event," showcased the talents of adaptive golfers from the United States and Europe.

Our first coach, Bruce Miller, has passed away
With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Bruce Miller, our very first adaptive golf coach and a true pioneer in our community. Bruce began his journey with us when our organization was known as Freedom Golf and played an instrumental role in shaping the US Adaptive Golf Alliance (USAGA) into what it is today. An avid golfer for over 50 years, Bruce played on his high school team and competed locally with various organizations. After losing his leg in 2012, Bruce became involved with the USAGA (then Freedom Golf Association) the following year. He completed Adaptive Golf Training to become a coach and dedicated himself to helping those with disabilities enjoy the game he loved.

USAGA Selected to Receive Funds Through Industry’s ‘Make Golf Your Thing’ Grant Program
Westmont, Illinois 6/17/24 – The U.S. Adaptive Golf Alliance (USAGA) has been selected to receive funding through a dedicated grant program operated by the golf industry’s DEI campaign, Make Golf Your Thing. As one of 81 designated organizations across the U.S., the USAGA was chosen for its efforts to increase golf participation among underrepresented populations of the sport.
USAGA and Challenged Athletes Foundation Host Inspiring Adaptive Golf Clinics
Earlier this month, the US Adaptive Golf Association (USAGA) and the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) successfully hosted a series of adaptive golf clinics at the Metropolitan Golf Links and The Olympic Club in Northern California. The event began with a coaching clinic on May 19th, attended by 20 dedicated professionals, including pro golfers, athletes, and healthcare experts. The coaches gained valuable insights and practical knowledge on adaptive golf, leaving them energized and eager to apply their new skills at their respective golf clubs. The following day, these coaches joined the participant clinic, providing exceptional instruction and support to attendees.

The Junior Board, comprised of dedicated Lyons Township women's golf team players led by Addison Wanatabe, orchestrated a remarkable fundraiser at Topgolf Naperville for the US Adaptive Golf Alliance (USAGA). This event, aimed at supporting adaptive golf and fostering inclusion for individuals with disabilities, exceeded expectations.

ARCIS GOLF PARTNERS WITH U.S. ADAPTIVE GOLF ALLIANCE FOR SIXTH YEAR
Arcis Golf, the second largest owner and operator of private, resort and daily fee facilities in the United States, is honored to continue its financial, course and program support of the United States Adaptive Golf Alliance (USAGA) in 2024. This will be the sixth consecutive year of partnership support. Making golf accessible to a broad cross section of audiences has been one of Arcis’ core tenets since its founding nearly a decade ago.
