2024 Shriners Open Adaptive Golf Clinic Recap

Since 2018, the U.S. Adaptive Golf Alliance has partnered with Shriners Children's Hospital to introduce adaptive golf to the Standard Bearers at the Shriners Children's Open, a PGA Tour event held in Las Vegas. This year, despite high winds that forced the clinic to move from the driving range to a nearby hotel, the event was successful. USAGA Executive Director Jonathan Snyder led the clinic, which included coaches Brandon Canesi, David Windsor, Tracy Ramin, and USAGA board director and Shriner Steve Husome. Both Canesi and Husome have personal ties to Shriners, adding a unique layer of inspiration to the event.

The 24 Standard Bearers, children supported by Shriners from across the country, eagerly embraced the opportunity to try adaptive golf. Many of them experienced the sport for the first time, creating lasting memories and discovering a new passion. The clinic became a highlight of their trip, demonstrating that golf is a sport that anyone can enjoy, regardless of their abilities.
