USAGA Receives $15,000 Gatorade Equity in Sports Community Grant

We are delighted to announce that the U.S. Adaptive Golf Association (USAGA) has been awarded a $15,000 grant from the Gatorade Equity in Sports Community Grant Program. Initiated in Spring 2022 as part of Gatorade’s Equity in Sports Initiative, this program is dedicated to advancing equity and access in sports by concentrating on three critical areas: resourcing community programs, providing access to sports facilities and equipment, and training coaches to champion equity and inclusion.

This generous grant from Gatorade will significantly support our adaptive golf programs including Starting New At Golf (SNAG) clinics, designed to introduce the game of golf to individuals with disabilities in a fun and accessible manner as well as our Driving Range programs designed to allow adaptive athletes put standard golf equipment to use at green grass facilities, and finally this grant will help support our adaptive golf enhancement program workshop designed to train and empower adaptive golf coaches. With these funds, we will expand our programs, ensuring participants have access to safe and welcoming environments, high-quality equipment, and well-trained coaches dedicated to fostering an inclusive sports culture.

Gatorade’s commitment to dismantling barriers and promoting equity in sports aligns perfectly with USAGA’s mission. This alignment of values and goals makes us eager to collaborate on initiatives that empower adaptive golfers and promote equity in sports. We extend our deepest gratitude to Gatorade for their invaluable support and for helping us profoundly impact our community.
